Whilst Gorse flowers most prominently during the spring, those vivid yellow flowers can appear at any time of year, and in the gloomier months it makes for a cheery sight.
One of the commonest hedgerow plants, garlic mustard can be easily identified by its distinct deep veined lillypad like leaves and garlic smell when crushed. If you know where to look, this plant can give you plenty all year.
Despite how common and easy to identify Wild Garlic is, this species is in my top ten favorite wild foods to forage. It’s versatile, delicious and plentiful. Just make sure theres enough room in your freezer.
